Maritime Museum Building Flagpole Restoration

The Aquatic Park Bathhouse is a unique example of Streamlined Moderne architecture, designed to evoke the imagery of 1930’s era passenger cruise ships. The flagpoles atop the building completed a critical part of the maritime atmosphere of the building by providing the opportunity to fly the US flag, pennants and maritime signal flags. The original configuration consisted of a prominent central pole, with two outriggers, and four smaller poles at the perimeter of the roof. The central pole would fly the US flag, the outriggers would fly signal flags and the perimeter poles would fly other flags or pennants.
