Ahoy sailors & scientists!

In these uncertain times, do you feel lost at sea–like THIS poor guy??

We’re here for you!

While the San Francisco Maritime National Park is closed and you can’t visit the ships at Hyde St. Pier or the USS Pampanito at Pier 45, we wanted to provide you with some fun videos and activities so that you can stay connected to the sailors, submarines, science and ships of San Francisco.

Please browse the tabs below to see videos of Age of Sail programs past, links to the Virtual Tour & Audio Guide of the USS Pampanito, historical videos of the Rescue at Sea by the USS Pampanito, tutorials on things like knot tying & rigging cargo, and some exciting videos of San Francisco & sailing history and documentaries of US submarines in the Pacific Theater of World War II.

There are some great resources for you here–please enjoy! Also, if there’s anything else you’d like to see here, please reach out to us and make suggestions. While the world is “sheltering in place,” we find ourselves with a lot more time on our hands and we are eager to stay connected with YOU! There will be no idle hands on THIS ship!
